gtk installation

hello...

thanks for the tips on getting GTK installed. this time, i made it past the
./configure, but the GTK test program didn't run when i did make and then
make install and gave an error 1, so i still don't have it installed. i tried
compiling a GTK program just to see if it would work, but it didn't. the GTK
RPM that came with my linux discs is version 1.0.5, so i need a newer one. are
there possibly any RPMs for 1.2.3 that would make it a bit easier, because the
1.0.5 RPM installed with no problem. thanks again!
