Using GDK-- with Gtk_DrawingArea

Hello,

i have some difficulties in using GDK--

- I have a Gtk_DrawingArea, on which i would like to draw an
  Gdk_Pixmap.
- This Pixmap i get from the C++ wrapped imlib. On this
  Pixmap i would like to draw on some lines.
Until now i didn't get this working. Especially i do not understand
how to use GC's.

If anybody can help me, i would be very pleased.

Im working with glib/gtk+ 1.1.15, Gtk-- 0.11.1, glade and glade--.
