Widgets in CLists

I'm working on a project where it would be nice to be able to place a widget
(a progress bar in particular) in a CList.  It looks like this is intended to
be supported at some point, but isn't implemented yet.

Are there any rough plans for when this might be done?  Alternately, can
someone point me in roughly the right direction to figure out how I could
implement this?
