help: Accelerators

Documention on accelerators seems to be a bit sparce. What I have is a
notebook, and I'd like the key alt-# (alt-1, alt-2, etc) to switch to that
particular tab in the notebook. So, alt-1 switches to tab 1, and so forth.
How would I go about doing this?
