Folks,
Freewebfone for Linux version 1.1 is now available. A GTK+ based GUI
has been added to this new release, making it much easier to use.
With Freewebfone, you can make a web phone call, record and play
voice mail, or even listen to web broadcasting! Freewebfone for
Linux is fully compatible with Freewebfone for Windows, so you can
communicate with friends running on MS Windows.
In order to use Freewebfone, you need to meet following requirements:
* Running Mandrake or Red Hat Linux, 6.0 or later
* X Window running properly
* Sound card works properly
* Running on a network or dialup modem works properly
Freewebfone is based on three key components: GTK+ for GUI, OSS API
for audio I/O, LinuxThreads for multi-thread supports. If you are
using old version, make sure your system supports all these
components before using Freewebfone. (Other distributions may be
supported in the future)
Freewebfone is a freeware, but not open source software. (GTK+ GUI
code available upon request). For more information, visit our web
site at: http://www.freewebfone.com/
Freewebfone for Linux is still under development, bug reports and
suggestions are highly appreciated.
Daniel
