Problem with resizing windows in 1.2.4

Hi. I have a serious problem with 1.2.4. If I try to resize a window with gtk_widget_set_usize in a callback or any function after the window has been realized, it refuses to do it.
Any ideas or is this just a bug in 1.2.4 that will be fixed.
