Compiling Dynamically Linked Binaries

Hello,

Ive got this GTK+ app that is a little over 1000 lines of
code and when it compiles the binary is around 200K. This 
seems a bit large to me so Im sure the code is compiling
with statically linked libraries. How do I compile the code
to be dynamically linked to cut down on file size? What
compile time options do I use? Thanks in advance!
