How to clear GtkPixmap drawing area?

Subject: How to clear GtkPixmap drawing area?

Hi,
When I use gtk_pixmap_set(), the old pixmap won't clear automatically.
I have tried gdk_window_clear(pixmap->window), but it will even clear
the area outside the pixmap. Could anyone tell me how should I do?
