The reason is very simple. Motif isn't free and Athena looks ugly. Gtk is
free and looks pretty. Vim is the editor I like the best, I want it to have
gtk gui, nobody is really interested, so I want to try myself.
I don't want to write any configuration utilities -- I won't be using it, I
prefer editing text files in vim :-) Well, I'm not sure I'll be using gtk vim
either, I prefer text mode, but well, it's fun!
