Hi,
I had also "undefined references to g_*" on my Debian 2.0 System when
compiling gnome-libs. Yesterday I found the error: missing symbolic link.
The solution (in my case):
cd /path/where/gnome_is_installed/lib
ln -s libglib-1.1.so.3.0.0 libglib-1.1.so
That's all!
