HScale and Ruler

[genome ugcs caltech edu (CS140 Genome Group)]

I have a horizontal scale and a ruler in a window, and as there is very 
little documentation on Scale, I was wondering what the six values that
you pass into the constructor for Gtk_Adjustment were?  And is there a way
to control the width of the slider?  Also, how do you get the current
location of the slider at any particular time?  

Also, is there a way to hide the little triangle on the ruler?
