gtk+-0.99.4: compile/"make"-problems

Hi,

I am trying to install gimp0.99.19 with gtk+-0.99.4, on my
Linux 2.0.33, Xfree863.3.1 .

When I try to compile gtk+-0.99.4 with "make", I get these error messages:

gdk.c:23: X11/Xlocale.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:39: X11/Xatom.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:40: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:41: X11/Xos.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:42: X11/Xutil.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:43: X11/Xmu/WinUtil.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:45: X11/Xresource.h: No such file or directory
gdk.c:47: X11/cursorfont.h: No such file or directory
In file included from gdk.c:49:
gdkprivate.h:22: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory
gdkprivate.h:23: X11/Xutil.h: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [gdk.lo] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Had the same problem while trying gtk+-0.99.3 yesterday.  

Any suggestions are appreciated.
