egcs and shared libs.

Hello!

I have a little problem with gtk+ 1.0.4.
I've installed egcs instead of gcc (latest:1.0.3a) and
I cant build gtk shared libs. I tried --enable-shared but
configure tell me that my linker and libtools does not support
shared libs... I saw that egcd provide it's own copy of GNU ld
but it should be fully compatible and I've already built some 
shared libs with it.
A clue anyone ?
