why no wrapper for XDrawText?

I was looking through the code for GDK, and I noticed there is no wrapper
for XDrawText or XDrawImageString. (I had been assuming that
gdk_draw_text was a wrapper for XDrawText, but that's not true.) Are they
really not very useful calls?
