This is actually one of the few things described pretty well in the
GTK+ tutorial. You should keep in mind, too, that horizontal
scrollbars are not implemented yet for the GtkText Widget.

OTOH you could also have a look at my Xlogmaster source - I set up a
GtkText Widget there (see xlogmaster.cc). You can find the Xlogmaster
under http://www.fusebox.hanse.de/xlogmaster/ .
