being one of those ones who despises anything that wastes space on his
simple 800x600 screen, i don't like the use of the windows style of MDI.
having that said, i DO think it should be a supported style. for some
windows programs it has proven useful (mainly those with many windows that
typically run full-screen) like mIRC and photoshop.
it would be a bad idea if joe programmer decided to use KDE instead of
gnome because he wanted to make a windows-style MDI program. it would
benefit us more to allow him to do so, and encourage his program to use a
different style later when it's functional
