Actually, gtk keeps changing in non-backwards-compatible ways...
In particular, the unref changes are very non-backwards-compatible,
and the visibility hack in the version we shipped is not compatible
with the correct visibility patch that I put into gtk later...

But I've removed all the gtk stuff from contrib; feel free to upload
your version again.
