gtk+ cannot be generted on AIX 4.1

I would like to generate gnome on:

sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1
hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20
rs6000-ibm-aix4.1.4
alpha-dec-osf3.2
mips-sgi-irix5.3
i386-unknown-linux2

and I began to generate gtk+-0.99.3 and it worked OK except on
rs6000-ibm-aix4.1.4 where the error is:

It is with gcc-2.8.0 and libtool-1.0.

Anybody can help me ? Any experience with gtk+/gnome on AIX machines ?
