[ANNOUNCE] gEdit 0.4.8 Now Available

This is to announce the release of version 0.4.8 of gEdit, a small but powerful
text editor for GTK+ or GNOME. This version has full support for the
GNOME 0.99.x and (tentative) GNOME 1.0 API, and as such seamlessly integrates
with the rest of the GNOME desktop environment. GNOME is not, however, a
requirement, as gEdit will compile with either GTK 1.1.x or GTK 1.0.x
standalone - this may change in the future. A relatively complete list of new
features since 0.4.5 can be found below:

	* A much improved preferences system.
	* Split-screen support for users of GNOME or GTK 1.1
	* Recent document list embedded in the file menu for GNOME users.
	* More plugins.
	* Lots of bug fixes, including the ability to have changes to the
	  font take effect immediately, an accurate method of determining
	  the current line number, and several memory leak fixes.

Just a final note that this will be probably be the last release of gEdit that
will support GTK 1.0.x, as it is too limited in functionality to support the
features we'd like to add to gEdit before 1.0.
gEdit 0.4.8 can be downloaded at http://gedit.pn.org

If anyone encounters any bugs, please let us know, thankyou.
