Pixmap theme broken ?

Hi!
I just tried the Pixmap theme but it dies for me saying that it can't find
gdk_imlib_load_image():

Loading Theme /scratch/serge/gtk/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libpixmap.so

Gtk-ERROR **: ld.so.1: testgtk: fatal: relocation error: symbol not found: gdk_imlib_load_image: referenced in /scratch/serge/gtk/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libpixmap.so
aborting...
Abort

However, it compiled just fine, and gdk_imlib is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Any
ideas why it might yell at me?
