gtk+-1.1.5 anf GNOME

Hi,
now I've compiled and installed glib-1.1.5 and gtk+-1.1.5, GNOME doesn't
work anymore! It still requires old libs (1.0.something).
What do I have to modify in order GNOME works again ?
