gdk_pixmap_create_from_data-- help

i am trying to write a simple mpeg player.

i need to create a pixmap from the mpeg frame data so that it can beput
into a drawable area. what's the purpose of the fg and bg arguments? what
can iuse there?

after creating it, i need to draw it to the drawable area with
gdk_draw_pixmap. what do the arguments to this one mean? especially
xsrc,ysrc, xdest, ydest, widt, and height.
