Hi all, I hope somebody can help me get gtk working on my
R.H. 5.0 Linux box. I tried to use the gtk-0.99.970925-3.i386
rpm version that was already on my computer but when I tried
to run the configure script for gimp-0.99.27 it said gtk was
not installed. I reinstalled it using rpm and the same thing
continued. I removed gtk-0.99.97 using rpm.
Next I tried to compile gtk+-1.0.0 and have not been able
to get past the following:
--------------cut from end of error message------------------
../gdk/.libs/libgdk.so: undefined reference to `XSetFillStyle'
../gdk/.libs/libgdk.so: undefined reference to `XCreateGC'
../gdk/.libs/libgdk.so: undefined reference to `XOpenDisplay'
make[2]: *** [testgtk] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gtk+-1.0.0/gtk'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gtk+-1.0.0'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
------------------------------------------------------------
I made sure there were no old libgdk* files on the HD but
I still can't get it to compile.
Next I tried to install:
------------------------------------------------------------
[root@localhost /root]# rpm -ivh /home/deltac/gtk+-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm
failed dependencies:
glibc >= 2.0.7 is needed by gtk+-1.0.0-1
------------------------------------------------------------
I'm running out of ideas. I tried many other things trying to
get gtk working but want to keep this message as short as I can.
Thanks for any help,
