Latest version of GTK+ ?

Hi,

I am currently building a GTK app which needs the gtk_text widget
which seems to be rather buggy :)

So I was wondering if GTK+ is available as a standalone tar.gz
(ie not the one included in the GIMP) ? And if there are
more recent versions than the one with 0.99.9 ?
