Re: Pango-WARNING failed to choose a font

I installed the freefonts package, but still doesn't work.

I am using Pango.1.28.0 with cairo support. I am using cygwinX to transfer the display on the windows XP client. My cygwin is already the latest stable verison.

****Any application that depends on Pango just cannot find the fonts required.

I built a debug version of Pango, GTK+ and tried to set a breakpoint at the function "pango_x_font_map_read_aliases" in pangox-fontmap.c. However, when I start the application such as "gtk-demo", the breakpoint never got hit. Does that mean pango is ignoring the pangox.aliases file?

*****The thing is that I don't know how pango works, where pango will search for the fonts? Until I understand the related files and configuration, I am not sure how I can get it to work.

Please help. Thanks.
