pangocairo not built

Hi,

I just downloaded Pango 1.15.0 and try to build (Suse Linux) it with 
pangocairo being build too (gtk+2.10 doesn't compile without it). I 
Googled and got a few hits concerning this question but no one fits to 
my situation. I have Cairo installed in /usr/local, I have set 
PKG_CONFIG_PATH to /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig and Pango configure outputs:

checking for CAIRO... checking for GLIB... yes
.
config.status: creating pangocairo.pc
.
config.status: creating pangocairo-uninstalled.pc

But during make no pangocairo files are compiled. Did I do anything 
wrong? I would be very appreciative for any help.
