pango 1.8-0 installation problem

Hi,

I installed glib-2.6.2, atk-1.9.0, fontconfig-2.2.90
at my linux box and tried the same with pango-1.8.0
in order to install gtk+-2.6.2.

However the installation step failed for pango with:

/bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/etc/pango && ../pango/pango-querymodules > /usr/local/etc/pango/pango.modules
/opt/software/pango-1.8.0/pango/.libs/lt-pango-querymodules: relocation error: /opt/software/pango-1.8.0/pango/.libs/libpango-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_fopen

I have no clue what the error raised, any idea ?

BTW, for successful compiling I had to move 
/usr/X11R6/include/fontconfig/fontconfig.h 
to 
/usr/X11R6/include/fontconfig/fontconfig.h.sav
