The logical rectangle is the one you would use for layout
purposes. Ie. when you are lining glyphs and lines up on a page you
should use the logical rectangle.
The ink rectangle is the bounding box of the area that will actually
contain ink. That is usually not the same as the logical
rectangle. Consider the glyph 'g' for example. It descends below the
baseline, so its ink rectangle will be bigger than its logical
rectangle.
