Very good solution.
I also faced problems with ka+halant+ra or
pa+halant+ra in gtk2.
But no reply from any of the mailing lists I wrote to.
Keyboard is easy. Also you just need to press right
alt once - toggles kbd. You don't need to keep it
pressed. OR maybe I don't understand your problem.
