Hi!

i want to make a Hindi film transcript using Hindi characters.

i have things somewhat working by following the directions on:

i'm using gtk+ 1.3.11 (cvs) and it seems to work with this test file:

  http://www.wholehog.fsnet.co.uk/robert/indic/devanagari.txt

The p.r ligature and below are wrong though.  Any ideas?

The other problem is input.  i haven't figured out the XKB stuff -- it
seems really cryptic.  An xmodmap file works, but i wouldn't want to
enter a lot of text with it -- i'd prefer a mode change instead of
holding AltRight.  Some of the letters might be in the wrong place too.
