Okay.  I have now checked it all in, and have managed to do a distcheck 
with automake-1.7 on libglade.  I added some uninstall rules, added some 
extra files to clean and added a hack to add write perms to the srcdir. 
We should work out some proper solutions to the last problem, but that 
can wait.
