uses internally for the different image types CSS supports. You can look for
the various subclasses that implement those from url() and linear-gradient()
to -gtk-icontheme() and cross-fade().

I just realized that the library I was working on when I referenced still
exists in my Freedesktop git repo if anyone wants to have a look:
