I agree, this seems to be solving the issue at the correct place.

If someone has super-tight control of all modules he's using (so don't
risk loading a module linked to pthreads) and don't want the overhead we
could technically add a gmodule-nothreads-2.0.pc, but I'm pretty sure
nobody cares enought for this to be worthwile (and it can be done
afterwards when requested too).
