At this stage, I would say this is not going to make it for GTK 3.0
unless there is some additional manpower to devote to it (read: patches
welcome).  I think this feature could be implemented without API changes
though, so there's no particular reason that it -must- be a 3.0 feature.
If someone does the work, it can probably go in at any time.
