In a way we being a bit offtopic but I agree fully with the "Vala
way" :-)
But kind of stupid to still discussion C vs C++ !? How many years has
this been discussed :-)
Gtk+ is plan C and will probadly be so for long time! And imho it SHOULD
BE because it make it simple to write bindings for every language.
But then again if people dont like to use plan C use Vala (like me :)
its fixes this in a very good way. And makes C code at the end. IMho
better than C++ ;-)
But again. This seems a bit offtopic discussion this again and again.
Please drop the discussion and focus on the important stuff instead.
Two give my .2 cents:
1. Depecation of old code is good
If people is using for example old GtkFileSelector or the old Gtk*List
We should ask those people why? Because I dont see any reason. I gladly
help those people convert to GtkTreeView/GtkFileChooser. If there is
still features that Gtk*List has that GtkTreeView not has it should be
implemented there.
2. Replace the GtkFIleSystem with GIO stuff and also support
Copy/rename/move of files in GtkFileChooser. (as a 90% "normal user" and
10% developer I really see this as an important feature atleast for
those coming from the Windows word and dont like the console)
3. Canvas widget
.... and so one...
