I can clearly see that the text widget isn't updated each frame, which
is required to have a smooth scrolling. And then my configuration isn't
that slow (Athlon64 and ATI r360).
I wonder how I can measure the framerate of Gedit.

PS: FYI CygnusED managed to scroll smoothly on a 7MHz processor.
