resizing columns (bug #59083)

Does anyone have a clever solution to this bug?  i have been a little
slow following up, but i'd like to get a solution now.

This bug amounts to the question of how to invalidate the GtkTreeView
row height cache.

When i get the notify::width signal from a column then i can recalculate
word wrapping (which can change the row height).  However, i don't
see an obvious way to inform the GtkTreeView about the new row height.
