I guess at this point, it would be 2.6, since we're already in the "decide
what doesn't go in" phase for 2.4. There is already a bug for adding this kind
of widget, which dates back to any even older pre-2.0 TODO entry,

If it is already in CVS somewhere and used in the wild, I don't think moving
it to libegg would
gain us much.

The first step would be to write a proposal outlining the use cases, api and
interaction with other parts of
GTK, and discuss it here. See e.g.
