Thanks Owen.  The patch does indeed seem to solve that particular
problem (although I presume from later comments there will be a revised
one along soon we should wait for...?)

It doesn't solve the Applications menu icon problems (presumably
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92852), but as you say the
menu sizes in testgtk and gtk-demo and the other apps I tried do now
change correctly.
