input methods

Hi all,

I've just played with input methods an observed the following.
Using default input method it is possible to enter an unicode character
<Ctrl>-<Shift>-<hex number> as recomended by ISO 14755.

After selecting X input method there was no such functionality. I would
consider it as a bug/missing feature but I'm not sure.
