How can I switch from Gnome1 to Gnome2

Hello,
I downloaded the whole stack of gnome2 src tarball, make and installed
in a prefixed directory, such as /gnome2/dist/ .
I am using RH Linux/Gnome1.4, then How Can I switch from Gnome1.4 to
Gnome2, or at list switch the bonobo server
and other servers/managers from 1.4 to 2.0?
