Sorry, quite busy these last few days. For the auto-scrolling, I think
that's the expected behavior, is it not? VTE has an option to
enable/disable automatic scrolling, try checking that one.

For the sunken border, I also can't find a fix for that, it also
doesn't work here. Maybe you could ask on VTE's mailing list.
