Creating a file with its folders

Maybe it was my imagination but at one point I'm sure I noticed a glib function for creating a file, complete 
with its folder structure - something like 'g_file_create_with_dirs()' or something similar.  I remember 
thinking "that'll come in handy one day!".  But now that I need it, I can't seem to find it and I can't 
remember what it was called.  Was I dreaming??
