Re: Gio library on Debian Lenny

Have you try GNet?
it has support for http protocol object (GConnHttp) and also based on GLib.

Does anyone know if the gio library is working for getting files from
the internet in the latest Debian Lenny distribution, x86?
I have tried the following code:

  GError *err = NULL;
  GFile * file=g_file_new_for_uri
  GFileInputStream *stream =  g_file_read(file, NULL, &err);
  if (err != NULL)
      g_warning ("The opening of uri gave %s", err->message);
      if(err) g_error_free (err);
      err = NULL;
But get "Operation not supported message". It works ok with a local file (file:///home/...) should it be
working for http?
