mac menu accelerators

ige_mac_menu_set_menu_bar creates a nice mac menu. Shortcuts (such as
command+N) are shown in the menu but they do not activate the callback. They
work properly if left as a non mac menu in the window.
Suggestions on how to get menu accels to work on a mac menu?
