GtkTreeView colspan, rowspan

Hi all,

is it possible to create complex layouts using a GtkTreeView widget? I
mean, being able to expand rows or columns as in GtkTable to achieve
layouts like this one:

---------------------------    IMAGE    | row 1
| ddddddddddddddddddddddd |             |
