This is not issue that should go to gtk_app_devel.
I suppose a general gnome list would be the right one.

I think that the problem is that you want to use gnome-1.x application
on gnome-2.x system. They provide different set of libraries.
You need to install gnome-1.x on fedora but I don't know if it will be
an easy task. It could be as simple as installing gnome-1.x rpms from
RH9 on fedora, but I can't tell you if it will work - never tried it,
or, if it doesn't work, a long and hard work :)
