mnemonics problems?

We are developing an application that has a menu bar, with menus and menu
items, like any other app with a menubar :)!
But there is a curious problem... When we created mnemonics for the
menuitems, we can´t see all the menuitem. We should see "New _Tab 
ctrl+t", but we see only "New _Tab   ctrl+" and it doesn´t work! I think
we have to activate it... Could you help us?
