Hi all,
We think that you can use the GNOME for embedded devices.
Here, at the institute, we are working on a "thin linux distro"
to embedded device, and its GNOME based. Of course,
you will not be able to "put" the entire gnome in a embedded device,
because the ram and hard memory limitation hinder this process.
In our own embedded distro, we are working on the gtk embedded too.
We believe tomorrow we will be sending you a way to
embed the GTK+ into OMAP 15/1710.
We embedded both Minimo and Mozilla into
these two platforms.
By now, we are solving some final problems and then we
will embed our desktop browser, MANaOS, that uses GTK+ for
the UI.
You can see and contribute to the MANaOS Project in Sourceforge project:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/manaos-gecko/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/manaos-gwebcore/
PS: MANaOS Browser Interface, it's an open source browser interface application for web navigation/accessing
on the internet. MANaOS Browser Interface is based on Gecko/Mozilla and GTK+ WebCore rendering engine.
