gdk_pixbuf_save ?

is gdk_pixbuf_save is supported in gtk+-2.0 & 
onwards.i dint find it any of the reference manual.
can anybody tell me which is the eqvalent one.i
basically want to save image or pixmap as jpeg or gif
or png.
